About the role
As a Boiler and Kiln Operator at OneFortyOne Kaituna Sawmill, you will work with our 4MW Polytechnic Boiler and modern Windsor Continuous Drying Kilns (CDK's). This full-time position is located in the heart of Blenheim, Marlborough, and will see you responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the boiler and kiln systems that are integral to our timber processing plant. Guaranteed minimum 47.5hr week (rotating am & pm shifts, Monday to Sunday). Hourly rate depending on qualifications and experience $28 - $38.
What you'll be doing
Monitoring boiler and kiln operations to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency
Conducting routine maintenance and troubleshooting on boiler and kiln equipment
Oversee fuel management, ensuring the boiler fuel system is properly fed and fuel needs are communicated
Direct condensate flow appropriately to either the pond or treatment plant
Record moisture levels consistently as part of quality control measures
Collaborating with the wider production team to deliver high-quality timber products
What we're looking for
Previous experience as a Boiler or Kiln Operator
Strong technical aptitude and mechanical skills
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and a reasonable level of computer literacy
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Commitment to workplace health and safety
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
