IVS Training is seeking a dedicated Biosecurity Facilitator to join our team and play a pivotal role in promoting a safe and secure New Zealand environment.
For the right candidate, this role offers the chance to upskill and deliver a variety of training programmes for New Zealand businesses, including Dangerous Goods, Manual Handling and First Aid.
Key Responsibilities: MPI Accredited Person Training: Train Accredited Persons (APs) who are at the front line of the biosecurity chain, and responsible for checking and managing contamination risks associated with imported sea containers.Transitional Facility Operator Training: Educate and certify Transitional Facility Operators (TF Operators) who maintain overall responsibility for biosecurity activities at MPI-approved transitional facilities.Conduct Assessments: Evaluate the performance of trainees through practical and theoretical assessments to ensure they meet the required standards - NZQA Unit Standard 4098 required.Provide Feedback: Offer constructive feedback to trainees to help them improve their skills and knowledge.Valid Driver's License: Full New Zealand Class 1 or 2 Driver's License is essential.Requirements: Strong Biosecurity Experience: Degree-level qualification and/or equivalent experience in science or biosecurity.Technical Skills: Proficiency in using training software, creating digital training materials, and familiarity with biosecurity-related hazards and equipment.Teaching Skills: demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and effectively teach students.
NOTE: Candidate must be willing to work towards completing an Adult Education Certificate.
