The Battery Repurposer is responsible for working safely and efficiently, including but not limited to: Day to day repurposing of batteries of all kinds. Repurposing of lead acid batteries for various applications, such as renewable energy storage, backup power systems, or electric vehicle conversions. Inspect and assess the condition of lead acid batteries to determine their suitability for repurposing. Disassemble, clean, and refurbish lead acid batteries using appropriate tools and equipment. Conduct comprehensive tests and evaluations on lead acid batteries to measure their performance, capacity, and overall health. Utilize testing equipment and instruments to analyse battery voltage, current, and impedance. Diagnose and troubleshoot battery issues, identifying any defects or malfunctions. Perform necessary repairs or replacements to ensure batteries meet required specifications. Develop and implement charging strategies and protocols for lead acid batteries based on manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices. Operate battery chargers and monitoring systems to charge batteries safely and efficiently. Maintain accurate records of battery repurposing, testing, and charging activities, including test results, maintenance logs, and inventory management. Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental hazards associated with lead acid batteries. Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Responsibilities: Know the company's vision with respect to HSEQ standards, behaviours and performance. Participate in the company's safety-first culture that supports continuous HSEQ improvement and participate in company-wide programs. Ensure duties of care obligations are met and that your conduct in the workplace occurs in a safe manner at all times. Participate in processes regarding risk management compliance and internal controls to ensure operations and legal HSEQ risks are effectively managed and minimised. Participate in training to obtain the appropriate skills and experience to safely and competently perform role. Adhere to Phoenix policies and procedures at all times. General Responsibilities: Advance the company's vision, mission, and values in all dealings and decisions to translate the formation of the company's culture. Participate in Communications/Marketing initiatives to effectively resource the business and meet strategic objectives. Develop strategies, plans, and allocate resources to ensure corporate governance. Implement strategies and manage standards so that effective customer service is achieved to bothinternal and external customers. Comply with all statutory obligations and review safety procedures continuously. Undertake any other duties, accountabilities and responsibilities as directed. Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications: Familiarity with battery testing equipment and associated tools. Proficiency in interpreting battery test results and identifying performance issues. Ability to perform repairs and replacements as required. Physically fit with the ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 20kg). Some experience working in a workshop, construction site, or recycling factory OR qualification is preferred but not compulsory. Knowledge of yard safety rules and methods is preferred but not compulsory Class 4 license will be an advantage but not compulsory Time management skills Reliable and hardworking Relevant work experience is preferred,but not compulsory. Relevant Battery Repurposing qualification preferred, but not compulsory. Hours of Work: A minimum of 40 hours per week is guaranteed. Location: You may be required to work in several locations in New Zealand. Drug & Alcohol Testing: New hire and random drug/alcohol testing is proudly completed to help keep our workspaces safe.
