The Hearing House is a not-for-profit organisation focusing on transforming the lives of children and adults who access sound through cochlear implants. We support clients and their whanau in the region spanning from the far north of New Zealand/ Kaitaia to Taupo. The Hearing House offers a supportive people-focused culture where our team's purpose is to enable all people who are hard of hearing to communicate and participate in society to their full potential.
About the Role
We are looking for a part-time Audiologist (approximately 3 days per week) to provide best-practice cochlear implant audiological services to our clients (children and adults), including carrying out cochlear implant candidacy assessments, switch-on and device programming, mapping, post-implant reviews, and contralateral hearing aid fittings. This may lead to a leadership opportunity for the right candidate.
Your responsibilities will include: Completing and writing assessments alongside the implant teamProviding post-operative audiology managementOrganising and running multi-day clinics, including outreach clinics, throughout the Northern region of New ZealandWorking effectively with diverse people, including those with a range of complex needsDemonstrating passion, commitment, and empathy in all aspects of your work.There are exciting opportunities for you at The Hearing House to work on projects of clinical interest and contribute to clinical research. About You
The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously and as a valuable team member within a co-treatment environment. We want to know you are a committed advocate who will do all you can to ensure clients in the care of The Hearing House are given the best opportunity to meet their full potential. The ability to be resourceful and flexible is necessary. We look for team members with excellent interpersonal skills who communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, and can demonstrate a high level of cultural competency and empathy.

It is essential that you hold a New Zealand Master's in Audiology (or the international equivalent) and have a minimum of three years of audiology experience with adults. Ideally, you will also be a member of the NZ Audiological Society and have experience working within a cochlear implant programme.
