Fixed Term 0.94FTE Associate Charge Nurse Manager positions in East and South Inpatient Unit, Te Awakura, Adult Inpatient Services, Specialist Mental Health Services.The position is for morning and afternoon duties on a 4 on / 2 off roster patternClinical leadership role for an experienced registered nurse in Mental Health, with current APC that is scoped for mental health.Must either hold or be actively working towards a relevant postgraduate qualificationMo te tunga | About the roleThis is an exciting step for a dedicated and motivated nurse who is eager to take the next step within clinical leadership. As a role model within the service, you will find yourself engaging with nursing staff and members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure effective relationships are developed and maintained.East unit is a 16-bed unit within Te Awakura, that provides 24-hour care to tangata whaiora (consumers) experiencing acute mental illness. The model of care primarily focuses on integrated multidisciplinary teams who strive to provide excellent care in the least restrictive manner. We work in a least restrictive model providing high-quality care and put a strong emphasis on partnership and kindness.Pehea | About YouIn this professional and clinical leadership role, you will effectively contribute to the ongoing development of nursing practice and the professional nursing workforce within the service. This role has a function that is both clinical and operational; therefore, you will have excellent clinical credibility as well as an ability to ensure the operational objectives are carried out in line with the Canterbury DHB vision.As a positive role model, you will be working collaboratively with the Charge Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Associate Charge Nurse Managers, and nursing staff to promote a high standard of consistent, professional nursing practice that is contemporary and consumer-focused. You will take a lead role in managing consumer flow both within the ward and throughout the service; whilst taking responsibility for helping ensure rostering is kept up to date and that the appropriate staffing resources are identified to meet consumer needs.Along with your proven ability to lead, you will be an expert at developing and extending nursing practice, assisting with performance appraisals, auditing, quality improvement, and providing overall clinical expertise and mentorship within the team that will enable them to continue to deliver a high standard of care.In order to be successful in this role, the following is required:Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC and mental health scopeExtensive experience working within mental health, a minimum of 3 years, specifically recent acute inpatient servicesHave a relevant postgraduate qualification, or be on the pathway to securing onePossess a depth of clinical nursing knowledge and leadership abilitySelf-motivated, flexible, and solutions-focusedBe an excellent communicator and a natural people personImpeccable time-management skills and process-drivenThe ability to work autonomously and within a teamSpecialist Mental Health Services are an interdisciplinary team that forms part of Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora - Canterbury | Waitaha.
