Following an internal promotion to principal, this role allows the new principal to assemble a dynamic team that will further enhance the school's reputation as a genuine community asset.
The successful candidate will make a lasting contribution to the shared aspirations of the Western Porirua community, including mana whenua, Ngati Toa Rangatira.Our Vision: Our vision for 'flourishing' aims to lead the educational system in New Zealand by providing young people in our community with relevant and authentic learning experiences that support their achievement, progress, and wellbeing.Key Responsibilities:Lead the pastoral system at the school, including restorative practice, our Whare Ahuru (tutor class programme), and attendance strategy.Oversee the hauora team, which includes guidance counsellors, a nurse, a social worker, and youth workers.Collaborate with the senior leadership team to promote excellence and equity in education.Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi and embraces the diverse, rich, and beautiful whanau we serve.Qualifications and Experience:A relevant teaching qualification and current registration with the New Zealand Teaching Council.Proven experience in educational leadership and management.Strong organisational and administrative skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Experience and passion for culturally responsive pedagogy and relational practice.A commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.How to ApplyPlease send your CV, and direct enquiries to:Postal Address:PO Box 50344, Porirua, 5240 #J-18808-Ljbffr
