Assistant Manager (2Ic) (55)

A motivated 2IC is required. We will be milking 1030 cows through a 60 bale rotary with automatic cup removers, milk hub drafting and in shed feeding. It will be a pasture based, system 3-4. The shed is well located with a feed pads adjacent. We have a 300 cow winter milk contract. The farm is located on Barrow road 3kms out of Cheltanham, Feilding. Must be NZ resident to apply.The key requirements of the 2IC in this 5 person team are as follows:You must work well in a team environment and have excellent communication and organisation skills.You will need to be able to monitor pasture and supplements and make accurate allocations.You must have a sound knowledge of animal husbandry and animal health.Accurate record keeping and the ability to run the farm in the event of the manager's absence is necessary.Someone who takes pride in their work and home environment will be given preference.This is an excellent opportunity to progress in a supportive environment.
