Assistant Cook Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef or Cook for a Private catering team based at the Birkenhead RSA. Note: You will not be employed by the RSA.Working days between Monday to Sunday (can be flexible).Key Responsibilities:Food preparation and cooking: Assist in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring each plate meets high standards. Our menu ranges from garlic bread, seafood chowder to steak meals, pastas, and burgers as well as catering for functions and buffet evenings.Food safety compliance: Maintain hygiene standards and follow food safety practices to ensure safe dining experiences for members and customers.Stock management: Monitor stock levels, assist in ordering supplies, and manage inventory to minimize waste and ensure a well-stocked kitchen.Other duties:Ability to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude.Problem-solving skills to resolve any issues that may arise in the kitchen.Encouraged to bring in new meal ideas or specials you think our diners will love.General kitchen cleaning and keeping your areas clean.Being a team player and helping where needed.We do plan to operate on Xmas eve dinner service.
