Assistant Accountant Role

Odyssey House has been working in drug and alcohol treatment and mental health support for nearly 40 years in Christchurch. Based in Burnside, we work from a busy site where people live in drug and alcohol treatment, and clients come on site all day long.Reporting to our Finance Manager, experience working within a team is important, as although parts of this role are autonomous, we all need to pitch in and support the administration of a busy NGO.In this role, you will be:Completing a busy payroll monthly including journalsAssisting with end of month journalsOverseeing financial management of Donations and VehiclesSupporting our residential services with their costings and budgetsPreparing GST returnsInvoicing our government fundersReconciling credit cards and suspense accountsWorking on projects around our systems and processesTo be successful in the role, you will:A qualified accountant (or working towards)Be confident working with Microsoft and accounting packagesHave a high level of accuracy in what you doBe able to communicate with a wide array of peopleWant to work Mondays and Tuesdays (and be flexible around the rest of the week)Applications to ****** see our website for more information about us: www.Odysseychch.org.nzApplications will be processed as they arrive.
