This full-time position is available in either Mangawhai or Dargaville with WFH options.
About the opportunity:
This newly created role is pivotal in shaping the strategic management of our parks and open spaces, driving best practices to maximise community value. You will lead the development and execution of asset management plans, ensure the effectiveness of maintenance programmes, and contribute to key policies and strategies. Collaborating with developers and regional partners, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing infrastructure and supporting future growth.
Key responsibilities also include:
Oversee parks and open spaces assets, lead management plans and maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with targets and regulations.
Liaise on development applications and private plan changes to ensure infrastructure meets community needs.
Develop and review strategies, identify growth projects, and maintain asset hierarchies.
Analyse asset data for renewals, develop data collection programs, prepare project documentation, and ensure accurate information transfer to the management system.
About you:
We are looking for someone with exceptional relationship management and interpersonal skills, coupled with strong strategic and analytical capabilities. Effective communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills are essential. Your expertise in time and scope management will ensure successful project outcomes.
In addition, you will have:
A relevant qualification in asset management, civil engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience in planning for infrastructure, parks, and open spaces.
Proven expertise in asset management, with familiarity in systems such as Hansen, AssetFinda, or BizeAsset.
Experience working with or within local government.
Strong financial management skills and experience.
