Discover a career with purpose at MBIESalary Range: $118,000 - $143,000Permanent RoleWellington RegionOpportunity to lead a team of dispute resolution experts and contribute to the development of fair employment outcomes.Tenei turanga - About the Role:As a member of the DR Leadership Team, you will contribute to the collective and collaborative leadership of MBIE's DR services nationally. These cover the Early Resolution Service, Employment Mediation Service, Strike Notices and Records of Settlement certification, and Case Management.The role ensures a balanced approach between required hands-on operational tasks and leadership overview.This is an essential service for employers and employees, and our mahi is a hybrid model of online and in-person. The role is expected to be present in our Wellington office and to travel to Palmerston North on a regular basis.Key Responsibilities:Lead the operational delivery of dispute resolution services by your local team, developing your people and driving operational excellence and efficiency.Lead the development of a DR Service nationally (currently Early Resolution, but could include mediation or case management) across Area teams, reporting to DRLT on the performance of that service at a national level, including practice standards and processes.Actively support the integration of te ao Maori in accordance with te Tiriti o Waitangi into service delivery.Ensure practitioners and team members understand and operate within nationally consistent frameworks and standards, while empowering them to manage their files effectively.Recognise the need for more specialised and/or technical advice or support and ensure it is quickly obtained and effectively applied.Contribute knowledge and expertise to achieve MBIE's outcomes, including effective relationships with major users of the service.Nga pukenga me nga wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required:5 years' experience in leading an operational statutory service delivery team in dispute resolution, employment relations, or a similar regulatory service delivery function.Relevant work experience in dispute resolution, case management, and labour relations.In-depth knowledge of the employment relations environment, understanding of the principles and practices of the Employment Relations Act, and other relevant legislation.Leadership skills including demonstrated ability to establish, engage, and motivate individuals and teams to achieve results and professional growth.Experience in developing and maintaining a working environment and team culture focused on continuous improvement.Qualifications:Graduate qualification in a relevant field or extensive and comparable experience.Accreditation with the Resolution Institute, Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of New Zealand (AMINZ) or equivalent professional organisation would be an advantage.Etahi korero mo MBIE - About MBIE:MBIE's goal is to create a resilient and high-performing economy that delivers real and ongoing quality of life for all New Zealanders.
