Amaltal Columbia Second Marine Engineer

Details of the offer

Classification: Mining, Resources & Energy See the world

Talley's is proudly New Zealand-owned and operated. We run six deep-sea fishing vessels with primarily Kiwi crews bringing the best New Zealand seafood to the world. Right now, we're looking for a qualified experienced Second Engineer for our fishing vessel Amaltal Columbia.

We offer competitive remuneration that includes full pay while you're not working, and the opportunity to further your career while fishing around New Zealand, Antarctica and the Western Pacific.

About the role

The successful applicant must hold a minimum of a MEC5 Ticket and at least 2 years' experience on similar vessels.

In this role, you will take direction from the Chief Engineer and be responsible for carrying out watch-keeping duties, and maintenance of the ship's machinery, equipment and structure.

You would be at sea for 4-6 weeks at a time which means you will be working every day during the trip. You will be scheduled to one trip on, one trip off – and while you're at home on your trip off, you'll still be fully paid.

Conditions can be challenging so being fit and healthy is a must. While onboard you will have a comfortable cabin, with an ènsuite, and most of our fleet have an onboard gym, WIFI and plenty of space to relax in your downtime.
