Aside from upholding the integrity of the professional practice, you will also be committed to the principles of health equity.Te Manu Toroa Trust is seeking an experienced and dedicated Alcohol and Other Drugs Counsellor to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position within the Mental Health Team. As an Alcohol and Other Drugs Counsellor, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive counselling services to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues. Your main tasks will include:Conducting initial assessments and evaluations of clients to determine their specific needs and develop personalised treatment plans.Delivering one-on-one counselling sessions to support clients in overcoming alcohol and other drug dependencies.Facilitating group therapy sessions to address common challenges and provide a supportive environment for recovery.Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care for clients with complex medical and psychological needs.Providing education and guidance to clients' Whanau on how best to support their loved ones throughout the recovery process.Maintaining accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and a non-judgemental approach towards those seeking help. A relevant qualification in counselling or a related field, along with proven experience working in the field of substance abuse counselling, is essential.
