Korero mo te turanga - About the role Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Sir Mark Dunajtschik Chair of Mechatronics, Professor of Mechatronics to join Te Kura Matai Pukaha, Purorohiko - School of Engineering and Computer Science on a permanent, full-time contract.
In this role you will be responsible for leading, initiating, and developing a new Mechatronics Engineering programme at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington.
Key responsibilities: Research: Lead groundbreaking research projects in the field of Mechatronics, focusing on areas such as robotics, automation, systems engineering, space engineering, medical technologies, and sensor technology.
Teaching: Develop and deliver engaging undergraduate and graduate courses, inspiring students to become future leaders in the field.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to students, fostering their academic and professional growth.
Collaboration: Collaborate with industry partners, government agencies, and other academic institutions to advance the field of Mechatronics.
Service: Contribute to the department, college, and university through service activities and leadership roles.
