Mo te tunga | About the roleThe Strategic Commitments and Engagement Branch is responsible for the strategic development, planning, and oversight of the NZDF's international engagement profile in support of New Zealand's defence and security objectives and broader international interests.As the Advisor International Business you will maintain the day to day financial, logistics and administration support for assigned NZDF non-operationally deployed personnel and NZDF overseas Posts.
At the strategic level this means ensuring the wider NZDF Global Defence Network operates effectively and in accordance with HQ NZDF policy guidelines.You will be responsible for supporting assigned, non-operationally deployed personnel and New Zealand Defence Attaché Posts located in North-East Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America.You will ensure that NZDF personnel based overseas are fully supported and have an open conduit back to New Zealand.
Additionally, the position works with the Director Defence Attachés to provide expert advice and support to foreign Defence Attaché's accredited to New Zealand.This role is based in Wellington CBD.
Once you have undergone training and are up to speed, there is the option of working from home up to two days a week.Applications will be reviewed upon receipt.

You will have experience with financial management and providing administration support.
You will be organised, motivated and willing to learn.You will also have:The ability to liaise with and relate confidently and professionally to a wide range of people.The ability to pick up acronyms, terminology, and processes relatively quickly.The ability to work within a collaborative small team environment with competing demands and deadlines.A good understanding of finance, accounting practices and budget management.Experience providing business travel administration.A financial/administration qualification or equivalent work experience.Experience in international business and/or foreign affairs is advantageous but not essential.
