As a Health & Safety Adviser at New Zealand's maximum security prison, you'll be more than just an expert; you'll be a positive force for change in one of the highest risk environments in the country. This role is not for the light-hearted; it demands resilience and adaptability, as you navigate the complexities of ensuring safety and wellbeing in a challenging setting. Your expertise will be important to helping Corrections keep our people and those in our care safe. We're seeking a passionate coach and trainer who thrives on implementing sustainable change and can rise to the unique challenges presented by the residents of this site.
You will be an integral part of the on-site leadership team, which is progressive, trauma-informed, and safety-focused. Our exceptional leaders deeply care about their team's wellbeing and consistently work at improving ways of working and culture.
As the H&S Advisor, you'll report to the Regional Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager. You'll play a critical role within our tightly knit eight-person regional Health, Safety, and Wellbeing team, contributing to solving larger organisational challenges and implementing large scale wellbeing and cultural change initiatives.
You will be based full-time, on-site at Auckland Prison, Albany, Auckland .

Three years minimum relevant experience in health and safety.
To be eligible for this role you will need one of the following qualifications:
NZ Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety Practice (Level 4)
National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH)
Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
Occupational Health and Safety – Bachelor of Health Science
The starting salary range is $81,606 - $100,000. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
