Activities Coordinator / Kairuruu Ngohe We are looking for a dynamic Activities Coordinator to join our team at Aldwins House.
They would mainly be working with our YPD (young person with disability) residents.

The purpose of this role is to provide residents with opportunities that will enhance their daily living in a meaningful and dignified manner.
This role reports to the Clinical Manager and their key accountabilities would include: Plan, implement and evaluate meaningful individual and group activities for residents.
The programme must include meaningful therapy that includes physically, socially and/or mentally stimulating activities.
Adapt or change program according to results of evaluations.
Maintain comprehensive and robust resident documentation.
Ensure a weekly/monthly activities programme calendar is available for residents, families and staff.Maintain and/or establish links with community groups or organisations in the interests of residents.
Participate and assist in regular resident meetings.Participate in quality-related activities.
Participate in professional development and at times including attendance at regional DT group meetings as directed by the Facility Manager.Encourage and support volunteers who wish to assist with the activities programme.
Skills and knowledge Excellent communicator The ability to motivate people Good problem solving and analytical skills A high standard of personal integrity, discretion and tact, maintaining confidentialityAbility to handle pressure Team playerPlanning and organisational abilityKnowledge of art and craft techniques, and sporting and cultural activitiesKnowledge of safety issues and CPR trainingQualifications Current, clear driver's licenseExperience in Aged Care sectorExperience in or knowledge of planning, implementing and evaluating Diversional Therapy Programme
