Willowbank is a family-owned tourism/conservation business looking for an experienced accountant to join our team, as we evolve into a group organisation with an upcoming acquisition of another popular tourism experience in Christchurch.
This is an exciting new role, setting up new systems and processes, combining these with Willowbank's existing systems to develop group accounts.
You will have exposure to every aspect of the finance function so flexibility and interest in all areas of the organisation will be crucial to your success.
The Role:
Overseeing, supporting and assisting the financial administrator with debtors, creditors, payroll and banking.
Providing timely and accurate management reporting, including analysis and understanding of performance.
Contributing to the budgeting and forecasting processes and challenging where required.
Understanding business risk, including debt recovery, and contributing to measures to mitigate those risks.
Preparation of annual financial statements.
Maintain the Fixed Asset register including any tax implications.
Continuous improvement of company process and policies and working to improving the efficiencies.
Various tax returns and other tax compliance, with the support of external advisors.
The Person:
Excellent communicator who can articulate financial information in a relevant way that supports decision making.
Enjoys a collaborative team culture.
Hold full, unrestricted working rights for New Zealand and be based in Christchurch.
Strong knowledge of New Zealand accounting standards and tax regulations.
CA or CPA qualified accountant, preferably with experience working at a leadership level.
An experienced accountant with strong technical skills, ideally using Excel, MYOB, Xero, Payroll software and more.
